Boomkwekerij “De Molenpol” has grown rapidly in recent years.
The nursery has expanded to cover 45 hectares, although the quality of the trees is more important to us than the size of the nursery.
We supply trees that have been replanted two, three or four times, with trunks measuring from 6 to 35 cm in diameter, to growers, trading companies, parks departments,
horticulturalists and various other businesses in the Netherlands and Europe.
The trees are mainly grown in fertile fluvial clay, much of which is available right next to the nursery.
Some tree species are also grown in sandy soil to provide the best growing conditions for those species.
The employees of “De Molenpol” are young, experienced and enthusiastic, working hard to ensure not only optimum quality of the trees but also good service and fast deliveries.
Our stock of machinery also plays a big part in this.
Every year we plant 10,000 rootstocks and 40,000 saplings.
The rootstocks are grown until they are 6-8 or 10-12 cm in trunk diameter, and are sold as twice replanted trees.
The saplings are grown until they are 12-14 or 30-35 cm in trunk diameter, and are sold as three or four times replanted trees.
